We would like to congratulate Jamie on gaining his IMI Level 1 Award in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair after a successful year at college. Jamie’s new qualification covers both the theory and practical aspects of motor vehicle engineering.
Jamie is now well on his way to gaining his NVQ Level 2 qualification and has recently bought his first car which he is spending his spare time restoring ready for passing his driving test.
Dave Bell said “Jamie is a valuable, enthusiastic and hard working member of the Salisbury Garage team and I’d like to congratulate him on passing his Level 1 qualifications.
“Motor vehicles are now extremely complex and the modern motor vehicle qualifications reflex this in their content.
“Jamie has a great future in the industry and I have no doubt he will succeed with his Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.”
Jamie also recently completed the IMI Level 3 Diploma in Air Conditioning and Climate Control and is therefore a fully qualified and certified automotive air conditioning and climate control engineer.

Salisbury Garage have recently installed high speed broadband internet access to their workshop.
Internet access in our workshop has many advantages to us as a progressive business. There are literally thousands of resources available on-line and we can now access these to aid in the repair of vehicles and the sourcing of parts and equipment.
Many of our customers have internet access at home and work and prefer to communicate quickly and easily by email. Customers wishing to contact us by email can now do so by using our quick and easy web site contact form. Additionally, every member of the Salisbury Garage team has their own email account and you can contact them directly using email, details of which are available on each team member’s profile page.
In the near future we will be adding the popular communication tool Skype to our main office computer and although we won’t be able to answer Skype calls we will be able to reply to Skype chat messages and receive file transfers from customers. This will prove to be an ideal way to stay in touch with Salisbury Garage and we’ll be more than pleased to accept bookings and provide progress updates via Skype during the working day.
We are also well on the way to networking our workshop so we can add more interconnected resources in the future. Many innovations are now network ready and we would like to take advantage of these whilst giving the team as much access as possible to wide area resources.

We understand that budgeting for unexpected vehicle repairs can place a major strain on household budgets.
Like many businesses we are not able to offer credit facilities due to the legal complexities involved so we have decided to accept* all major credit and debit cards** and have recently installed a new card terminal which is compatible with the new Chip and Pin scheme.
We hope by accepting* credit and debit cards in addition to cash and cheques (supported by, and up to the value of, a valid cheque guarantee card) that budgeting for routine and unexpected vehicle repairs will become a lot less painful.
* Subject to authorisation by the card issuer and a minimum invoice value of £20.
** Cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, Eurocard, Delta, Visa Electron, Maestro, Switch, JCB Card and Solo.

Salisbury Garage have recently completed their move to new larger premises located on Walliker Street, Kingston upon Hull.
Due to the redevelopment of land adjacent to our old workshop on Ella Street we had little option but to relocate the business.
We were able to secure purpose built workshop premises on Walliker Street close to Anlaby Road which gives us long term stability and many advantages over our old building.
One of the biggest advantages is our new dedicated and self contained MOT bay. As part of our relocation we installed upgraded MOT test equipment to the bay that has helped us streamline our MOT testing procedures which has improved our turn around times dramatically.
Access and space in our new MOT bay is also greatly improved as is natural light through the workshop’s windows and skylights, something we haven’t been used to in the past.
We have converted the original ground floor office into a customer reception and waiting room which provides a safe and comfortable area for customers to relax while their vehicle is completed. This area also provides a full view of our MOT bay so customers can watch as their annual MOT inspection is carried out.
